When we pray, we start by asking God to align our hearts with His Word. This month, we're praying 1 Peter 3:15: “but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, ready at any time to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.”

Pray for your family members who are far from God. Pray for them to experience the fullness of God’s grace in Christ Jesus. Pray for our church family to be bold with the Gospel.

Kenner, Belle Chasse, New Orleans East, Mid-city, Metairie, Gretna, Gentilly, Lakeview, Uptown, Irish Channel, CBD, Algiers, the Quarter, Navarre – and so many more can be added and even brought into greater focus. We are a city of defined, celebrated, and loved neighborhoods, each one rich with culture, architecture, restaurants, grocery stores, schools, clinics, firehouses, police stations, veterinarians, dentists, and parks.

We want to live missionally in our neighborhoods, praying for neighbors to know the love of God through faith in Jesus Christ. We want to pray that God will open hearts to His gospel and that we will lovingly share the gospel with boldness.

Pray for your neighborhood, especially neighbors on your block.

Since 2009, the Inward ministry has shared the Gospel message of love, freedom, and redemption in Christ with women in the sex industry on Bourbon Street. This month, you can pray for Inward in these ways: Pray that the doors to these clubs would be open to them. Pray for opportunities to have meaningful conversations that go below the surface and to share the Gospel. Pray that the women and men they encounter would see the love of Christ in them. Pray that the volunteers would have endurance in this good work, and that God would send more volunteers.

Pray for New Orleans as it prepares to host the Super Bowl in 2025. Major sporting events bring the potential for increased sex trafficking. Pray for the men, women, and children involved, and for law enforcement and others trying to be vigilant to the presence of these things. Pray that God would use Inward, law enforcement, and other ministry partners to bring freedom to those who may end up in New Orleans during this time.

This month, pray for our ministry partners located in North Africa. These partners are involved in many clean water projects that provide inroads to friendship and opportunities to share the Good News. Pray for receptive hearts and open doors. Pray for the many medical needs they are able to meet and the relationships established because of this aspect of their ministry. Pray for their children living and going to school in two other countries.

Pray for the FBNO team that will go to encourage these ministry partners and serve with them in North Africa at the beginning of October. Pray that God would open doors to share the Gospel and encourage the believers in North Africa and our partners there. Pray for many seeds of the Gospel to be planted and watered, even as our team returns to the States.
